Hills are good places to build Cities, because they give a Defensive bonus to any units stationed there. The Production and Commerce bonuses are substantial, but Food is minimal. One can build Roads, Mines and Trading Posts, but not Farms.
One needs to discover Explosives to Terraform Hills.
Coffee and Grapes are the Goods found on Hill tiles.
