The Incas are an unused civilization included in the Civilization II game files. They are led by Atawallpa (with no given female counterpart), following a Rational, Expansionist, Civilized personality. Like the Arabs, it is unclear if they were originally intended as a playable faction, or are supplied as bonus content for third-party modding.

Overview[]

Color[]

The Inca are coded as a white civilization, acting first in turn order. Their default definition is intended to replace the Romans, Russians, or Celts.

Leaders[]

The Inca only feature a male leader, Atawallpa (c. 1502–1533), the last emperor of the Incan Empire who was captured and killed by Spanish forces led by Francisco Pizarro shortly following the conclusion of the Incan Civil War. He was the eldest son of Huayna Capac, who leads the Incas in Civilization IV, and great-grandson of Pachacuti, Inca leader in Civ III, Civ V, and Civ VI.

Personality[]

The Inca AI is Rational, Expansionist and Civilized: it conducts peaceful diplomacy, preferring to settle many cities, while prioritizing civic advances for research.

Cities[]

Modding[]

The Incas are defined at Line 24 of the @LEADERS section of Rules.txt. Entries beyond Line 21 are not read by the game, meaning the Inca must be substituted for an existing civilization in order to use; by default they are coded to replace a white civ. The third parameter identifying leader gender in scenarios is missing, and must be added manually. There are no Inca leader portraits in mk.dll, nor a discrete herald; the game will read the files associated with the original civilization.
