The Lion is a barbarian animal unit in Civilization IV.
Strategy[]
With 2 strength and 1 movement point, Lions are stronger but slower than Wolves. Like other animal units, they spawn only in the early game and cannot enter a civilization's cultural borders.
Scouts receive a 100% combat strength bonus when fighting Lions. Be sure to protect any Settlers that leave your territory with Scouts or military units if Lions are nearby.
