Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth is the next game created by Sid Meier. It takes place after Civilization V .When "The Great Mistake" happens humans set sail to space to find a better home. It takes place in an alien planet. It will be available in the fall of 2014.(This is not an exspanion pack for civ v it is it's own game)

- There are three "ideologies", or "affinities", as known in Civilization: Beyond Earth. Harmony, Supremacy and Purity.
- The game is related to Alpha Centauri, but is not a "sequel", Firaxis states.
- The story of the game takes place approximately 200 years after 20(14?). Humans must leave Earth after "The Great Mistake", takes place. The Great Mistake is presumed to be a nuclear exchange in Asia. Who knows, maybe Gandhi?
- Deciding which leader and/or "sponsor" you will play as/with, will change the gameplay type depending on your choice.
- There is now an "orbital layer" which allows for things such as satellites.
