Civilopedia entry section[]

I think it's a good move to rename the section to Mechanics and add/improve the information in the section. This also aplies to other general concepts. These civilopedia entries were not moved to subpages and protected because its content is more like a mechanics explanation rather than historical context. Robal (talk) 19:12, 16 December 2020 (UTC)

I actually did not realize that was actually the civilopedia entry, since the Great Merchant's effect was there since the beginning of Civ6 but didn't get a mention. Just an idea, if there are people who still want to name the section "Civilopedia entry" since the main bulk of the information is still from the Civilopedia, we can give it a somewhat hyphenated name, like "Civilopedia entry / Mechanism". Just a suggestion, I don't have strong opinions on this. Zechariah0311 (talk) 19:32, 16 December 2020 (UTC)

Call me a purist or anal retentive if you choose, but I believe that any section entitled "Civilopedia entry" should present its content exactly as it's presented in the in-game Civilopedia (apart from fixing any grammatical or mechanical errors). If we add or remove any information at all, we're taking liberties with what's presented in the game and the section needs to be renamed. I have no issues with using a Civilopedia entry as the basis for a "Mechanics" section, however - they give us a good template for structuring and formatting pages.
As for the tidbit about Mary Katherine Goddard, I think Firaxis gave themselves some wiggle room with the word "including" - it suggests that a list is incomplete (much like saying "Baby mammals, including kittens, puppies, and humans, drink milk" neither means nor implies that kittens, puppies, and humans are the only milk-drinking babies in existence). It's also possible that they intended to expand the list after Mongolia was added to the game and simply forgot about it, but I think changing the section name to "Mechanics" and making the list more comprehensive was the best way to fix this. -Mythril Wyrm (talk) 22:25, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
