Women's Suffrage or "Votes for Women" is a relatively modern institution, first applying to a whole country in New Zealand in 1893, thereafter gradually adopted by most other countries. Sid Meier and his colleagues and successors decided to make it a modern Wonder of the World (or sometimes a civic) in the Civilization games.
